ModMed's free FHIR API is read-only. Booking runs through ModMed's proprietary API, which ModMed grants through its synapSYS partner program, and it needs the practice to run ModMed Practice Management, where the schedule lives.

Bookings are tested in ModMed's sandbox and then on your account before live calls start.

Do we have to change anything about how we use ModMed?
No. ModMed stays your system of record. The front desk works inside the schedule, appointment types and providers you already have, and your team keeps working in ModMed as they do today.
We only use ModMed EMA. Does this work?
Not for booking. The schedule lives in ModMed Practice Management, so EMA-only practices have nothing for the front desk to book into.
