Charm EHR integration for the A.I. front desk

CharmHealth's public FHIR API is read-only. Booking runs through Charm's REST API, which Charm grants on request under a license agreement and an annual per-practice fee.

Built for: Integrative, functional and primary care practices

What the connection does

  • Create new patients

    Yes
  • Update patient details

    Yes
  • Read providers and locations

    Yes
  • See open appointment times

    With setup

Charm has no open-times lookup; availability is worked out from booked appointments and your clinic hours.

  • Book appointments

    Yes
  • Cancel appointments

    Yes
  • Reschedule appointments

    Yes

How booking works

From the call to Charm EHR.

The front desk offers times inside each provider's hours that are not already booked, then books the appointment in Charm, which rejects any time the provider is already busy. Cancels and reschedules happen in Charm too.

What you will need

  • Charm REST API access (annual fee to Charm)
  • Each provider's bookable hours and visit types

Setup

How we connect Charm EHR.

  1. 01

    Request API access

The practice requests REST API access from Charm; Charm states $2,000 per practice per year for this kind of use.

  2. 02

    Set bookable hours

We record each provider's bookable hours, facilities and visit types.

  3. 03

    Test, then go live

Test patients and appointments are created and removed before live calls start.

Charm EHR integration questions, answered.

Do we have to change anything about how we use Charm?

No. Charm stays your system of record. The front desk works inside the schedule, appointment types and providers you already have, and your team keeps working in Charm as they do today.

Why does Charm charge for this?

Charm's free API is the read-only one required for patient access. Write access for booking is a licensed product, priced per practice per year.
